Photo of the day

I take thousands of photos each sports season and sometimes one stands out from the rest. At the Richford-Stowe softball game on May 17, I snapped this frame of Stowe pitcher Amanda Wood. I particularly like the glove in this shot.

While waiting to take team photos of the Winooski Middle School softball and baseball teams today I came across a couple of gesse (gooses? gessae?) playing on the infield at Hawthorne Field.
I warily approached at first, hoping not to scare them off, but they were not shy.
As I approached, one of them took to the mound.
Shortly thereafter its (team)mate creeped in from the shortstop position.
As if on cue, one of the two struck a profile pose. Perhaps it knew it was destined for immortality on my blog.
Suddenly, they took of on a double-steal!
But one of them got picked off - or tried to pick off something to eat.
The detour seemed to fowl the play and confusion ensued.
Their cover blown, there was nothing left to do but make a quick getaway.
Now that was something you just don't see everyday
Ding dong, Bin Laden's dead
Probably not the venue post this PG-13 homage to my favorite dead terrorist, but it doesn't fit on FB or Twitter. Besides, it's my blog and I can cuss if I want to.
Thanks to the Wicked Witch of the West and a long ride home for the inspiration.
Ding dong.
Bin Laden's dead.
Yep he is,
shot in the head.
Ding dong,
the effin jerk is dead.
We took,
the bastard out,
crack a beer,
it’s time to shout.
Ding dong,
thank God he’s finally dead.
He’s gone,
where he belongs,
Below ... below ... below.
Yo-ho,
let's raise a glass,
we finally,
nailed his ass,
we’re so glad
Bin Laden’s finally dead
